Many moons ago, I did a design challenge. The challenge was to create a clickable prototype in Figma of a dashboard for a project management tool. I came up with a concept called Pomanso. Here’s what the design challenge called for and what the final result looked like.

Back story

The company SW Inc. is in need of a dashboard to help their customers get insight into how their projects are progressing, give employees at SW Inc. access and insight into all the projects status and progress and help each team track their progress for their teams project.

The dashboard would be web-based and use standard JS-based frontend tech as React and some graph lib like charts.js or D3.

Challenges & Use Cases

  • Customers

SW Inc. want to strengthen the relationships by increasing transparency and trust with its customers by being open and transparent with status and progress with customers projects and products.

Customer follow-up on their budget status, check status on deliveries and progress continuously and wants insight into code quality, team satisfaction.

  • SW Inc. Teams

Teams should take full responsibility for their customer and their project. Including budget, communication, margins, future backlog levels to continue the business, deliveries.

SW Inc wants to guide the teams’ focus on customers satisfaction and overall deliveries, create a shared team view of the current and future business with the customer and promote shared responsibility of both code quality and delivered value.

  • SW Inc. Employees

Each employee should be able to see status and situation for all other teams and SW Inc. as a company.

Every employee at SW Inc. should have insight into the company’s and project’s health. They should also feel included and trusted. Furthermore, the platform should trigger cross-team interactions, questions, and discussions.

  • Potential Customers

Public available demo dashboard as part of displaying how working with SW Inc. would look like but also a small show-off on web/dashboard/UX example.

The platform should give a peek inside SW Inc. and help drive lead creation.

Expected Assigment Delivery

  1. A clickable prototype in Figma, InVison, Sketch, or similar tool.

    • Filter on specific Studio or Team

    • Admin page covering setting up and managing Studios, Teams, and Team members

  2. At least one example graph.

  3. A foundation for a design system and brand identity.

Please note
that you are not required to tackle all of the challenges and use cases in the design.

Have a go
at it yourself!
